I planned to propose to my future wife...
May28_2023_edited.jpg

It was the final night of my holiday with my girlfriend,

A night which I imagined to be full of happiness and joy. But I was wrong. This was a night which would change the course of my life forever.

Instead of prematurely celebrating my birthday, I found myself the victim of a brutal and sadistic attack at the hands of a father and son, Michael and Francesco Ciprianni. I was tackled to the ground, only to then have my foot put into a lock by Francesco, and for Michael to violently saw at my ankle with a knife, right the way down to the bone, all whilst their family surrounded me. It horrifies me to this day - I could have died in that very moment, and they watched me suffer a pain that I never knew existed.

Michael’s wife also mercilessly threw a metal barricade at my head that caused a brain concussion after I was pulled out from Michael and Francesco’s grasps. And for what?

Because I tried to do the right thing.

Whilst on the dance floor with my girlfriend, we were pushed and knocked back by a wave of people after a brawl broke out, which was started by Michael and Francesco. Six security guards stood by, looking on as innocent people were getting hurt.

That’s not who I am though. I had to intervene. I had to make sure my girlfriend was safe; I had to make sure other people were safe. I pointed Michael and Francesco out to the security guards so that they could be apprehended and the chaos could be over.

Instead, my life changed forever, in a way I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy.

The terror from that night didn’t end after the attack though. The emergency response felt as though it was non-existent. The closest hospital was five minutes away, yet I sat there, losing blood and in excruciating agony, for between one to two hours, waiting for an ambulance to arrive.

Finally, I got to the hospital.

Yet more waiting.

Four hours waiting as I was neglected at the Doctor's hospital in Bahamas as blood was filling the bed I was on, to then be told by an orthopaedic doctor that they couldn’t do anything for me; I had to figure out what I had to do in order to save my life, all on my own. $22,000 and 26 hours after my attack, I was transported to St. Mary’s hospital where I found out that, because my wound hadn’t been treated correctly, there was a 50/50 chance that my foot would have to be amputated.

Thankfully, this wasn’t the case. Metal rods were drilled into my bone as the only way of holding the ankle together and two of the three ligaments which Michael had savagely severed were reattached. Despite the surgery being a success, this was just the first of many challenges in my story. What came next pushed me to my limits, and also revealed a very sinister truth.

Rebuilding Myself

My recovery has been just as painful as the attack itself, if not worse. Extreme physical pain has partnered with extreme mental pain. A living nightmare. The first months of being unable to walk and taking both morphine and oxycodone felt like they were all in vain; I required a second surgery soon after, which meant that I had to relive not being able to walk again for 6 miserable

months.

Only after that was I able to start retraining my ankle again in over 100 sessions of physical therapy. On top of all of this, I’ve had to endure countless visits to the doctors, stem cell and PRP (Platelet-rich plasma) injections, the stress of desperately trying to make money after spending it on my recovery, and horrific nightmares of the attack, triggered by my PTSD.

Shockingly, it was something else that plunged me into the depths of misery and despair.

A horrifying injustice.

The Cipriannis

Despite the fact they could have taken my life, Michael, Francesco and Vanessa Ciprianni walk free today. They are out there right now, experiencing freedom without consequence. They have been ever since their arrest, the day after the attack, and it was only through a private investigator that I discovered this. The Bahamas police didn’t even care enough to tell me, the innocent victim in all of this.

Do you want to know the pitiful reason they’ve given me for releasing Michael and Francesco? They’ve said they don’t know what happened on the night of my attack. Despite my harrowing account, the numerous video evidence that could be shown, and the witnesses who could testify - they don’t know…

Well, there’s one thing I’m certain of.

Something far more nefarious is rippling beneath all of this.

You might be asking who these men are, and why I’m determined for you to know about them.

The simple answer is that you have to know.

Michael is incredibly dangerous; his past shows he clearly has no desire to follow the law and will not hesitate in compromising the safety and welfare of others for his own gain. With having a father like Michael, and with the role he played in my attack, Francesco has the capacity to be equally as bad, if not worse.

Michael Ciprianni, formerly Michael “Cookie” D’Urso, has a brutal past tied to the Genovese crime family. In 1994, a card game in a Williamsburg club turned deadly when Michael was shot in the head over a gambling debt. His beloved cousin was also killed, but the mob forbade him from seeking revenge. By 1998, Michael's loyalty shifted when he became an informant for the FBI, fearing for his life after learning that acting boss Frank “Farby” Serpico had planned to assassinate him.

Michael has also previously pleaded guilty to taking part in a murder himself, as part of a deal under which he wore a recording device in a Rolex watch. From this, he captured hundreds of conversations from 1998 to 2001 and incriminated numerous mafioso. Even former district attorney, Dan Dorsky, described that Michael was once “the model of an aspiring hood with a history of theft, fraud, extortion and loansharking”, and also mentioned about “his role as the driver in a Mafia hit”, during a Brooklyn federal court hearing in 2003.

Do you want to know the worst thing of all about this though?

Michael’s attack on me, has happened whilst he has most likely been under continued FBI witness protection after helping the authorities to convict seventy members of the mob. How has this been allowed to happen? Committing a crime whilst under witness protection does not absolve a person of legal responsibility; Michael’s protection should now be revoked after he has broken not just one law, but many.

So, I have to ask, what is truly going on here? How, after what they have done to me and the crimes Michael has committed, are he and his son still walking free today? How do the Bahamas authorities pretend like they do not know what happened when it is clear as day from the videos and witness testimonies?

To make sure we get these answers as quickly as possible.

I need your help to bring these men to justice. I cannot do this alone.

What can we do?

I know you’re most likely horrified at what has happened to me. But, this isn’t the only reason why I have gone public with my story. Throughout my recovery, I’ve come to understand that my story is actually far bigger than me.

This is about you. This is actually about all of us.

Think about it.

How many other people are out there who have been ignored by the authorities?  How many other victims of violent crimes are out there who haven’t seen their attackers brought to justice? How many other authorities out there have let cases slip away like those in the U.S and the Bahamas have done with mine?

I wish with all my heart that it hasn’t, but maybe one of these things has already happened to you.

By working together, we can do far more than just bring Michael, Francesco and Vanessa Ciprianni to justice.

We can do what is right and start making significant steps towards bringing all the other perpetrators who roam free to justice.

We can make the world a better place.

Therefore, I urge you, please do whatever you can to spread my message. Share it on your social media pages; comment on the videos, write an email or letter to your congressional representative, set up social media campaigns or online petitions. Come forward if you have any information on crimes they or their family have committed.

The louder we shout about this injustice, the harder it will become to ignore. Saying nothing is not an option. If we say nothing, what evil will be allowed to carry on unpunished?

There’s only one way to stop future evil:  TAKE ACTION TODAY!

Thank you,
